Our client is a Global leader in providing DATA and Data Analytics to enable large companies and organisations around the world to make critical, strategic and economic decisions. 
They are looking to hire a VP to be based in Barcelona to play a key part in making sure the company's services and Products (eg:Advanced Search and Big Data Analytics platforms) are aligned with global business needs and are of optimum quality.
As the Vice President of Technology, you are a dynamic, versatile leader with excellent analytical and communication skills and a willingness to grow in a fast-paced development environment. You are a team player with strong reasoning and collaboration skills, and thrive on change by effectively influencing others to get things done. As part of the Technology Leadership Team, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer you will drive the technology strategy in support of the company’s products, business growth and worldwide operations globally. This area plays an integral role for the company’s business and by setting the strategic direction and development of new products you are contributing to our future growth. Total budget responsibility is shared within the function.

•Actively participate in developing a clear technology strategy, including development and operational standards that create a robust technical environment; play a leadership role on major technology decisions and initiatives in a manner that will enable the overall Technology Function and the Business to achieve its long-term objectives.
•Lead the execution of the business’ technology strategy and solutions.
•Promote the services of the technology organization and determine how business partners/customers can leverage its expertise.
•Drive overall resource allocation that best fits the objectives of the business, including working with senior executives across the organization to determine priorities and communicate technology impacts throughout the decision making process.
•Create a results-oriented culture that is focused around hitting milestones and achieving goals.
•Foster a collaborative atmosphere with the Business Segments and Product Management function, Technology Leadership peers and other teams.
•Execute on migration of our products to the cloud
•Develop a roadmap around delivering feature-rich and sustainable versions of the product - but doing so in a rapid development and consistent release cycle.
•Communicate key technology initiatives to senior management and current and potential clients.
•Deliver expedient yet highest quality product releases with adherence to release schedules and customer expectations.
•Set timelines and manage expectations for all deliverables and releases.
•Build a flexible architecture to allow rapid changes to established processes as well as new product additions.
•Facilitate the prioritization of business and product requirements within the product development group.
•Define, recruit, train, lead, motivate and manage a customer and product focused technology organization, to ensure having the best to deliver on the company's goals and develop an environment which stimulates innovation.
•Work cross functionally with the entire company including but not limited to Product Management, Quality Assurance, Sales, Training and Customer Support organizations, to provide technical solutions to identified customer concerns
•Participate in key customer meetings to promote existing relationships and work with sales to represent development and technical expertise in the winning of new business
•Collaborate within the business units to identify strategic integration opportunities to leverage, and extend the functionality of both the company's products as well as the products developed and sold by other divisions
•Identify sourcing opportunities, negotiation and leveraging of contracts with vendors.
•Anticipate and react to major industry and technology changes to ensure the continued company leadership in this competitive landscape.
•Participate in establishing technical standards and adherence to them for product development and operations.
•Be accustomed to working with both global in house development resources as well as outsourced, consulting and contract resources; including third party vendors and outsourcing partners with global operations.
•Collaborate with internal and external thought leaders to capture IP and translate core knowledge into meaningful requirements documentation, process maps, patent applications and best practices that will in turn enhance the software functionality.
•Help define and manage the departmental budget for all expenditures and headcount.
•Provide overall management and strategic technology direction within assigned business. Manages a global staff of 70+ technologists and comparable number of offshore resources, with direct supervision of 5-7 leaders that provide day-to-day location specific management of teams.

Basic requirements
•Bachelor's degree in technology field preferred.
•At least 12 years experience in a global corporate setting; with a minimum of 8 years at various management leadership levels; with extensive technical development, operational and leadership skills.
•Experience with large CLOUD transformation project
•A good working knowledge of CLOUD models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS – Private, Public AWS and Hybrid.)
•A good technical knowledge base regarding ‘modern technologies’ used on Search platforms and Big Data analytics platforms; eg: TGK, Elasticsearch, Machine Learning, AI, Hadoop ecosystem etc.
•Strong organization skills with the ability to present technical decision support in a consistent and relevant manner and care for quality and accuracy;
•Excellent project management skills, and skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives, with an ability to problem solve and facilitate solutions.
•Excellent leadership, collaboration and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively and persuasively with senior management to drive efficiency.
•Strong teaming, and analytical capabilities with the ability to operate independently, affect change across functions, and deliver results.
